Communication is never easy. It may be a good idea to ask about these insecurities instead of talking about your feelings and try to focus the conversation around his reactions that you’ve seen. Sometimes, it’s more important to talk through insecurities and provide the emotional support getting through them requires to start, and then trying to talk about having strong feelings toward another individual.
Also remember that communication is a tricky thing.
